If you ask the average woman on the street how she feels about her weight, you’re likely to receive a scowl, both for how she feels about her weight and for how she feels about you for asking. For many women, thinking about their weight and their bodies is an uncomfortable and emotional issue.
Society puts a great deal of pressure on women to look good and be fit. Diet and exercise programs abound! Lots of frustrated women are on a constant roller coaster ride of one diet after another, trying to find the magical solution. With all the pressure and all the programs, why is it that in the United States alone, two-thirds of all women are overweight, with half of them categorized as obese?
What if diet and exercise are not enough? If weight loss is clearly such an emotional issue for women, why aren’t more experts addressing the emotions instead of continuing to focus solely on the endless deprivation and mania of calories in and calories out?
EFT tapping expert, Jessica Ortner, agrees. She been helping women achieve lasting weight loss and body confidence with a more systemic and holistic approach involving tapping. Jessica says,
“Focusing on diet and exercise FIRST when trying to release weight is the wrong approach. You need to first focus on what’s going on inside you, in your unconscious brain, that is holding you back.

When I talk about Jessica’s approach, the first question I’m usually asked is whether I used it to lose 80 pounds back in 2009 and keep it off. My answer is, “No and yes.” When I lost my weight, I didn’t know about tapping yet, but I discovered the same essential insight on which Jessica’s tapping work is based.
I realized the emotional, mental and spiritual roots of life-long physical fitness and health. Falling in love with myself unconditionally by demonstrating love, respect, curiosity, compassion and gratitude for myself no matter what, led me to the same place—a life of generous, effortless, gracious flow filled with faith, hope, prosperity, peace and joy. Now that I know about tapping, when I find myself straying from healthy nutrition and exercise (yes, I still stray sometimes as any of us can do when we become overwhelmed by stress and ancient self-destructive scripts), I’m able to use tapping to help me reveal and release the specific fears that are fueling the re-emergence of my former unhealthy (and most decidedly unloving) nutrition and exercise habits.
