Declare Your Independence From Stress

Since 1971, when Intel first introduced the microprocessor chip, US productivity has more than doubled.  That could have resulted in all of us having twice as much time for fun. 

Instead, during that same period, our leisure time has decreased by almost 40% while average wages have barely kept pace with inflation.  Is it any wonder adult Americans  report feeling much more stressed than they did  a decade or two ago?

Kissing stress goodbye starts with three baby steps:

  1. Pay attention:  If you don’t recognize you’re feeling stressed, you can’t change it.
  2. Breathe:  Take three deep breaths, become fully present, restore sanity and realize you have options.
  3. Exercise your right to choose:  Stop being a victim to reactions based on past patterns and future fears — make a conscious choice instead.
