At each stage in life, challenges arise. And each new challenge brings a new lesson. You learn it and then move on to your next challenge and your next lesson.
As we go through life, the lessons get more complex. It’s as though each time you learn one lesson, you “graduate” to the next level. At times, this process can feel like too much, even for Mother Theresa!
Before you throw in the towel, Stop, Breathe and Remember: Everything’s an Opportunity. Consider all the challenges you’ve already transcended and lessons you’ve already learned. They have prepared you perfectly for the challenge you now face. Breathe and Get Curious: if Everything’s an Opportunity, where might the Opportunity be in this seeming challenge.
We might think it would be easier if we could just learn all our lessons from a book. But experiencing the full range of emotions, from frustration to transcendence, and working through them anchors the learning much more deeply than mere academic exposure could ever do.
You are enough for whatever Opportunities the Universe offers you. There is no better preparation than your full life experience—lumps, bumps, lessons and all. Know that the Universe won’t give you anything you can’t handle, even if you wish at times, like Mother Theresa, that It didn’t have such a high opinion of you.
